Welcome to the Buffalo Writers' Coop

Eddie Tatu Harris

The Buffalo Writers' Coop is a "Zero-Barrier" worker cooperative of journalists, novelists, and poets operating in Western New York. We believe that stories are the software of society, and we operate without dues to ensure every voice in Buffalo has the power to be heard.

Our collective is building a media empire for the working class outside of traditional corporate gatekeeping. We focus on two primary tracks:

  • The Queen City Commonwealth: A deeply researched, journalistic non-fiction series documenting the rise of Buffalo's solidarity economy, worker cooperatives, and community land trusts.

  • The Prime Buffaloverse: A shared fictional universe, featuring works like The Cornerstone Collective and The Unspared Life, that explores housing justice, intersectional pacifist social anarchism (IPSA), and collective problem-solving.

We hold our anchor meetings at the Crane Branch Library (633 Elmwood Ave, Buffalo, NY). If you are a writer in Buffalo tired of working alone, join us.
